Positive Impact Groups
Our Positive Impact Groups exist to facilitate collaboration and ideas to create a sustainable event industry. Since 2010 our Groups have been identifying what a sustainable event industry could look like, what resources are needed to create this and where these resources could come from.
Positive impact exists to create a sustainable event industry and the Positive Impact groups exist to facilitate collaboration and idea sharing to create a sustainable event industry.Since 2010 groups have been meeting to identify what a sustainable event industry could look like, what resources are needed to create this and where these resources could come from. So far the groups have contributed to the Positive Impact 2020 Vision, Positive Impact Pledge, Positive Impact Ambassador Scheme and the WRAP Zero Waste Roadmap. We have created this short film to summarise the role of the groups and the difference you can make through them.
There are groups with different areas of focus (for example sport or cultural events) or different ways they are connected (such as sustainability experts or association members) but they can all influence the creation of a sustainable event industry.
Group meetings take place twice a year in June and December. They are facilitated, interactive meetings where the goal is to gather input from attendees.
We caught up with James Samuel, Event Director for International Confex, after our June 2013 meeting, and this is what he had to say about the Positive Impact Groups and sustainability:
If you want to get involved with the groups, contact firstname.lastname@example.org. We have limited numbers for our group meetings to 10 places to ensure everybody can contribute!
