A Contract for How We Will Work Together
What is this contract?
This is a friendly agreement that highlights the fact that collaborating with Positive Impact will be a positive and transformational experience.
This means we will be creating something new together and usual business language, metrics and ways of working may not fully reflect the impact we have and the way we work.
For example if you do not try these materials in workshops, or if you do not attend Change Maker workshops to ask questions, the value you will get from the product will be low. It is through using the materials and being part of the community that your expertise and leadership will develop. This is a very important point which even the most intelligent people forget.
What are you agreeing to in this contract?
You are agreeing to collaborate, explore, innovate, experiment and embrace the possibility of making mistakes.
You are agreeing that you understand implementing ISO 20121:2024 can challenge traditional business models and that you understand that your results may be limited if you do not challenge this.
You acknowledge that the time for a different approach is now, as we face an emergency for our planet and communities and agree to act with this urgency in mind.
What could this contract look like in practice?
Taking action: For example, join our meetings or act on Positive Impact campaigns (make sure you are registered as a Positive Impact Ambassador to regularly receive free resources)
Recognising Procrastinating and acting on it: For example if the people around you are not using capacity-building resources (eg Positive Impact Ambassador resources) or offer excuses for inaction (eg requesting more data or case studies) remind them of the urgency of the situation. Focus your energy on those who are innovating and taking action, as this is where your efforts can thrive.
If a peer, client, supplier imposes restrictive boundaries: For example, if they request limitations that contradict recognized best practices (e.g. wanting to use frameworks less credible than ISO 20121:2024, ISO net zero guidelines, CSSRD), explain that you can not adhere to such boundaries. For example, if they ask for only Scope 1 carbon footprint data or focus solely on economic impacts, explain that your approach is based on comprehensive and credible best practices.
Respecting that Positive Impact is a not-for-profit organization and as such we rely on our materials being used only by those that have purchased them so that we can create resources for the wider community. All materials have been copyrighted and whilst we are at risk of other entities copying or forwarding on our materials, we would politely ask you not to do this (we regularly update our materials so they will become out of date if you share them without our knowledge).
