Earth Day 2022 Toolkit

Are you ready to invest in your sector and demonstrate how events can be used to advance sustainability goals?

Since 2015, the Positive Impact Team have curated a best practice sharing experience for event professionals around the world on Earth Day. Over a 24 hour period event professionals have shared their best practice on twitter using hashtags #shareapositiveimpact #earthday and #eventscreatechange.

Our previous event reports tell the story of how the event sector has developed from sustainability being an “unexplored concept” to being the norm. In 2022 it no longer makes sense that it is only on Earth Day that the event sector shares sustainability best practice. As the many press articles, awards, industry presentations demonstrate, sustainability is now a norm 🌍🎉

This Earth Day, the theme is “Invest in Our Planet” and throughout the day we will post questions on the following topics with the intention of exploring and collaborating:

  • ISO 20121

  • Human rights

  • Net Zero carbon

  • Plastic

  • Food waste

  • Carbon measurement

  • Gender equality

  • Stakeholder engagement

  • Materiality

  • Measurement

  • Bidding

  • SDGs

This will give event professionals the chance to engage, share their event best practice and demonstrate how events can be used to advance sustainability goals.

Feel free to answer, ask more questions, or share examples of your best practice. Use the following hashtags with your responses so we can capture them:

#shareapositiveimpact
#eventscreatechange
