I represent an association from the event sector what does ISO 20121 mean to me and how can I be involved in the revision?

If you are interested in understanding the role of liaisons and if you could be a liaison here are some resources to help you:

Membership of ISO's committees and working groups is primarily made up of delegates and experts appointed by ISO national member bodies. However there is also the possibility for certain organizations ("external liaison organizations")  that meet ISO's criteria (see below) to be involved and to appoint liaison representatives.

Criteria for liaison organizations

The criteria for liaison organizations to be involved in ISO's work are set out in the ISO Directives Part 1. The organization must:

  • be not for profit

  • be a legal entity — the office of the CEO will request a copy of its statutes

  • membership-based international organisation and open to members worldwide or over a broad region

  • demonstrate that it has the competence and expertise to contribute to the development of International Standards or the authority to promote their implementation, and have a process for stakeholder engagement and consensus decision-making to develop the input it provides.

  • Must be an international organisation
